  1. Malwilhist summed it up completely for me.

  2. Good parents r tha ones who put their child's welfare b4 their's always. Keeps their children clean, and fed, and loved. Takes their time 2 b patient and teach their children things, and listen 2 them when they need an ear, lets them cry when they need a shoulder. Gives their child encouragement, and advice. Disciplines their child when needed, and does not use their authority 2 take advantage of their child/ren.

  3. Anyone that puts their childs needs BEFORE them.

  4. As a nanny, I've seen it all. Good parents are the parents who decide, on a whim to go to the zoo, the renaissance faire, or the park in a Batman costume with their kids. Good parents are the ones who build forts, the ones who are home for dinner each night, to tuck the kids into bed, and the parents who set clear and consistent boundaries. The best parents are the ones who say I love you and mean it, the ones who don't just stick their kids in front of the tv--the ones who take care of you when you're sick, take you camping with your troop in the pouring rain, and the ones who make sure you know they support you no matter what.

  5. Are always there for advice! Protective but not to catious. Need to know when to leave the kid a be and know when teh child need there comfort. Always putting the child before themselves.

  6. You'll know them when you see them.  They're playing with their kids, disciplining them when they have it coming, and hugging them anyway even when they insist they hate you.  You'll often find them roasting in the humidity while they're playing in the pool, because it's the right place to be and no one is going to drown on our watch.  You can spot them having pointless arguements over an apple when it would be so much easier to just give them the Doritos.  They're commuting them all over the place, and missing their own social activities to host a play date.

They're stay at home moms... and the full time employed workers too!  They're breastfeeders and bottlefeeders.  Spankers and non-spankers.  Sometimes they're poor as dirt.  They're home schoolers and private schoolers and public schoolers.  They're of mixed races sometimes, and a balance of religions.  Athiests and Catholics and agnostics too.

Good... no, GREAT parents exist among all these groups.

  7. i dont know.

    i dont have them.

    haha.

  8. Good parents provide and model good examples of responsibility, judgement, nuturing, and know their primary purpose isn't always unconditional acceptance of bad behaviors but to raise a child who will become  a responsible able adult who makes good decisions and is able to make a good life for themselves.

    V. challenging.  Together it all means love.

it is a lot of work to raise a child and be confident that their children will be successful as parents themselves.   That is the ulimate test.
