  1. if your just on a holiday visa no. but if your an aussie resident (and don't have a citizenship, like my hubbie) yes there is. you can just get any job you are qualified to do, just like an aussie.

although if your on holidays you can only get cash in hand work. although that is still illegal. best bet is the building trade and that pays the most too. so if your not afraid to get dirty and have some muscles there's some work. then there is fruit picking but you need to be where the fruit are. they pay well for good workers but its hard work and if the season is bad its not worth doing it. then there's cash in hand hospitality work. you get paid c**p for that and its dirty oily job and get treated like c**p. some hostels let you work for your rent so you don't need to ay rent so that may help. or you can just lie to your employer and legally you have something like 60 days to give in tax file info. so you can work for 60 days at a normal job then quit.

please remember all this is illegal and shouldn't be done :P

  2. No

You need a work permit if your going to find a worthwhile wage.

If your in Australia then maybe you can pick fruit for $1 an hour.

  3. If you are coming here on a holiday you can easily get a work permit before you come here. If you get caught working without a permit you will be detained and deported at your expense.

There are good jobs and as long as you have entered legally and have a work permit you can do any job you want and have a qualification for.

You can be a foreign national and retain your own National citizenship and have Australian residency status. The government makes it easy to be here legally but, as you would expect, a lot harder if you are trying to dodge the rules.

Working cash in hand is possible but if you are foreign and without permits the employer risks huge fines. As a direct result of this, getting a job picking fruit is a lot harder as most wont take the risk.

  4. You need a work permit, without one you are at the mercy of whoever will pay you cheap wages cash in hand, if you get a work permit then you will also be protected by all our laws regarding work.
