  1. I heard that rats make great pets. They are easy to take care of. If it's a boy, that's what you should get. A girl would love a rabbit. But they do smell pretty bad. A hamster would be good for a girl, too.

  2. Depends on how much time you have. Alot of people say they want a dog but don't have the energy/time/expence to fully train, feed, care for a dog. Cats are the same you need to have time and energy for them. Probably one of the easiest things to start out with is a fish. So buy the tank kits with some fish and if you can keep them alive for a while than move up to a bigger animal.

  3. hermit crabs/

  4. i would suggest a Hamster or mouse. These little fellas are easy to take care of, and are lots of fun. Hope this helped you, and helps me..............10 points!

  5. I'd say a rabbit. They are very gentle rabbits, dont bite and never really scratch. then dont struggle to get out of you arms, they do loe a cuddle. They are fasinating to watch, and i'm sure the 11 year old would love it. :)

they are very easy to look after.

    good luck :)

  6. i think a kitten would be great its easy to take care of it gets potty trained btitself. They just come up and cuddle with you its so easy

  7. A Rabbit. I have two. Their easy to look after, great fun and can even be toilet trained. Their the third most popular animal for pets after dogs and cats.

  8. Gerbils!

  9. Edit: ok I say go for a rat prefably (females) they make nicer pets than most people would ever think. I also find that their less grumpy than hamsters to.

    ---------------

Rats as Pets: Rats are clean, intelligent, affectionate animals which bond to their human companions in much the same way that dogs do, and with the right care should provide a comparable level of companionship. They are the same species as the wild brown rat, Rattus norvegicus, but have been selectively bred for looks and temperament for at least the last century and are now quite different in temperament from their ancestors. They are far less aggressive towards humans and rival rats, and display a number of behavioural differences from wild rats, which have been noted by researchers.

Rats become very attached to their owners, make playful, sensitive pets, and can be taught to come by name and learn a variety of tricks. Unlike many other rodents, however, rats are a fairly high maintenance pet. They need at least an hour's playtime outside their cage every day. Because they are much more intelligent than many other small animals, rats can suffer greatly if not given enough attention, free-range time, and environmental stimulation. While rats are extremely rewarding pets and will repay any attention and affection you give them a thousand fold, they may not be suitable for everyone; if you cannot guarantee to give your rats at least an hour of quality time every day, then perhaps a lower maintenance pet would be more suitable.

  10. Pet Rock

  11. a fish! you can get kits online and teach them to play soccer. Good bonding time for you and your kid!

  12. A mouse. It was my first pet.

  13. If your child wants a pet that he/she can hold or pet I wouldn't get hamster/mouse/gerbal, I'd go for a rat or bunny.

  14. Get a rabbit. They are social and fun. They dont smell and the cage is easy to clean. Just find a place for your rabbit to run for few hours a day. Some toys, salt wheel, igloo, hay, pellets, water clean every day. They can be easly litter trained too. Can be cuddled. Better to get two ( male/female, male/male) that are fixed bec they wont be lonly. Some apples, carrots, leafy green, banana. If the rabbit is not used to greens give them very little or if the rabbit looks sick or has runny p**p stop giving it. I have four and im 13 and I find that they are the most loving, jelous, sweet, cuddly, cute little things ever!

  15. Something small and easy.  Maybe a mouse or rat, guinea pig or hamster.  Make sure it's used to being handled so it won't bite.  They are lots of fun because you can get all sorts of tubes and cool toys for them.  Some of the smaller reptiles are cool but don't like to be handled that much.

DO NOT get a rabbit.  They are high maintenance pets much like a dog or cat.  They are not like guinea pigs or hamsters.
