  1. whole foods! theirs a bunch of choices you can choose from and its healthy!

  2. MAybe, an international place like. Try indian, bangladeshi, pakistani, italian, french, russian, mexican, african, there are a lot of international places! Try google the names and try to get directions. I used to live in NYC and i dont know if these are close to Union Square. I hope this is useful information!!!

  3. Great food - great value - some unusual items on the menu at Via Emilia on East 21st Street between Broadway and Park - I often can't make up my mind, so I get two or three appetizers for dinner - portions are generous and the food can be outstanding.

Another place I like for lunch is L'Express on Park and 20th (they're open all night).  They have good soups, sandwiches, good burgers, and they serve breakfasts(omelets, etc) till 4pm.  The menu is very varied and the prices are excellent for a New York French restaurant. (Same owners and similar menu to Pigalle in the Theatre District)

  4. For a quick weekday lunch I enjoy stopping by "the noho star" located on Bleecker and Lafayette.  Interesting menu, good food, attractive waitresses and acceptable service.  decently priced too.
