Good place to live near UCLA?

I'm a college student, and I plan to visit UCLA for few months.

And I want to rent/share a room near UCLA.

Which area do you recommend??

I'm looking for the place that is safe, close to UCLA, etc..

I think I can affored at most 1,000$ per month for rent.

Could you list the possible areas that I will be interested in??
