  1. Some places to relax.... Dandenong Ranges (south east vic), have plenty of b&b and have great walks, feed rosellas & cockatoos for free. There are some nice galleries there & there's the observatory at the top.

There is Apollo Bay (south west vic), walk along beaches, see 12 apostles, drive through great ocean rd.

Lake Mountain has plenty of snow and its cheaper than most touristic snowy mountains, nice b&b, plenty to do at the mountain - skiing/taboggan etc. Nice walk around area too.

  2. it depends a bit on the time of year

the dandenong ranges are certainly beautiful, a ride on puffing billy is fun to do while you are there. the great ocean road to and through apollo bay is spectacular. phillip island and the penguin parade are definitely worth visiting. near phillip island is wilson's promontory national park with camping or cabins at tidal river and a short hike up mount oberon or to squeaky beach.

there are many other good places around victoria for a holiday. check out the tourism victoria website http://www.visitvictoria.com/

  3. there are plenty and in all directions...

hire a car and start driving... u'll find it more beautiful with a companion.

  4. Gipsland and Lakes entrances.Any Where around vic is nice, if your going in the winter the alps would probaly be a must.

In the summer the beach would be a must. I have been goinbg over to vic ( from WA) every second summer , with my family, and have seen how much vic has to offer.

I hope you enjoy your trip, Have fun.
