  1. pinks hotdogs!!!!!

  2. - 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica - plenty of restaurants to choose from, street performers, shops and people watching.  Great place to walk around, eat and chat.

    - The Grove @ Farmer's Market - Lots of good places to eat (Cheesecake Factory, Woodranch BBQ, among several others), cool little water fountain (mini version of the one at Bellagio), shops, movie theaters and the old-school eateries at the original Farmer's Market.

    - Kincaid's in Redondo Beach - Haven't had the food here, but have hung out at the bar.  The place has a really cool ambience and isn't too fancy and not too casual.  The place overlooks the water and after dinner, you can walk around the pier and watch people fishing (yes, late on a Saturday night!), stroll around the little shops and eateries at the pier, too.

    - Old Town Pasadena - Plenty of eateries [Cheesecake Factory, IL Fornaio, Cafe Santorini (has very good food) ] and shops and you can walk down Colorado Blvd, which is very happening on weekends.  You can grab some frozen yogurt of coffee and hang out and chat, too.

Belmont Shores/2nd Street in Long Beach - Lots of restaurants, bars along this street.  I strolled around and managed to find a nice little sushi restaurant with my girl even though it was Christmas eve and practically everywhere was shutting down.

Hope this helps and good luck.
