Heyyy, so my friend and I are visiting London for two weeks, we're staying in east end london. We are 17 and 18, where are good places to have some fun at night? We can't go to bars and clubs since we aren't old enough, unless you know some places that are lax on ID... but we don't wanna go like bowling and s**z cuz that's boring.

Where are good spots to hit up as someone underage??

  1. u are legal in the uk if u r 18

  2. As long as your friend (18 year old) has id you should be able to get into places - just say you have forgotten yours.  If you are female and dressed smart then most clubs don't ask for id.  For ideas of places to go check out:

It all depends on what you are into.  The high spots would be Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Soho.  Make sure you hold onto your bag or better still check it into one of the cloakrooms as pick pockets do target bars and clubs.  Also make sure you order a cab to take you back to the hotel:

Do not take a cab unless it has a licence (no matter how cheap they say it will be) as it may not be safe and they usulay bump up the price at the end.  If you have not booked a black cab hail one.  If you go out in Lecister Sqaure or Covent Garden you are a short walk away from Charring Cross where there is a taxi rank.

Another option would be visiting a gallery or museum in the evening.  Many are open late and they are often quieter.  See:

Or why not take in a show at the theatre?  If you go early (8-9am) to the theatre's box office you can pick up tickets for that evening cheaper.  There is also the ticket booth at Leicester Square that do cheap tickets for that day:

Also how about a ghost walk?

There really is lots to do to keep you entertained!

  3. I hate to say it but as long as the 18 year old brings their passport they will be allowed into most bars and clubs (a few are over 21 but not many).  They are not as strict on ID as a lot of American clubs and bars are and as long as you dress well and behave yourselves you should have no problems getting into most places.  Just don't get too drunk or else you won't get in anywhere and the taxis will refuse to take you home.  Most of the tourist nightclubs centre around Leicester Square.  There's zoo and oxygen as well as lots of bars around there.
