Hi, I'm a 15 year old guy and was wondering what are some good exercise for me to do over the summer. I just started pole vaulting my freshman year, and I went from 0 to 8 feet :) that's good, right? Does anyone know some good exercises for working on form and learning to turn over? So far, all I have been doing is core strengthening (i.e crunches and push-ups)... any answers would be appreciated!

  1. Get an exercise ball, do ab work and balance exercises on it and you'll get much more out of crunches and push ups done on an exercise ball.

Also to pole vault you need more speed, so work on sprinting form, explosiveness and acceleration for running.

  2. yeah, i'm a female pole vaulter and ur core is key. if you want to work on form of holding ur pole i just use a spare broom and practice going up just to get fluidity  pushups are great... upper body strength is super needed

turning over now if that's what i'm thinking it is you just need to practice outdoors. i'm doing summer vaulting it took me a while to get my turn you just have to practice
