  1. Please, friends don't let friends buy from Raidmax. Like with Rosewill and Apevia, they deal with the cheaper SMPS OEMs and it shows. Instead of a CWT or Seasonic, you'll get a YoungYear, Solytech, or if really lucky maybe a SirTech. Basically, this means you get a supply which is probably overrated by about twenty percent, uses cheap capacitors and won't last long, has excessive ripple, and rails that jump like a Mexican bean.

I suggest you buy an OCZ if money's an issue. They're not great, but people have torn them down, tested them, and they're a known quantity. Fortron Source Power makes, and they're the Epsilon chasis. They can make their rated power if just barely, they have ALL safety equipment save for MOVs that save the thing from wall surges, and they perform fine except for pretty bad ripple when running full tilt. They're pretty fine considering all the horrific supplies people buy which literally SHOOT SPARKS at 2/3 rated draw! They exist and get good reviews because even with an 8800GTX and Phenom or Q6600 you won't be drawing more than 300-350 watts full load, and thus, they never get stressed. That also means the OCZ won't ripple too much in your actual usage.

Only catch is the rebate must be postmarked ten days after the item ships from Neweggs warehouse. If you don't make this date, OCZ will generally process the rebate anyway if you contact them; they're quite honest.

  2. Ok we all need to know the FULL NAME of the graphics card so we can pin point EXACTLY what you need. There are over 100 variations to this model. Such as XFX, Ageia, EVGA, and more. Are you planning on using SLI?
