Good power supply for for a 8800gt or maybe 8800gts?

I've been looking into getting an 8800gt or an 8800gts, My power current Power Supply now is a pathetic 240w, so what would be an optimal PSU for an 8800gt and what would be good for an 8800gts.

Depends on the rest of your system.  The 8800GT draws up to 78W for the 512mb version, 8800GTS draws up to 99W.  If your system is fairly basic (I'm assuming it is, if you're running on a 240W PSU now), I still wouldn't be comfortable with a PSU any less than 550W.  About 650-700W should give you room to breathe now and expand later.
