My wife and I are researching pre-schools in Denver. We have some time to commit and want to find a good school. Does anyone know of good pre-schools or somewhere to find ratings or statistics on them?

  2. There are some excellent preschools in Denver. I strongly encourage you to visit them more than once during your evaluation process. I hope the links below prove useful to you.

I have personally worked in two outstanding preschool programs (Slavens ECE--teacher: Stacy Lister, Denver Public Schools; Lowell Annex--teacher: Lynnae Nicholson, Englewood Schools) and have been associated with several others. I am presently a reader for the Denver Public Library and have visited many public and private Head Start/ECE programs throughout Denver. I must tell you that I have been more impressed with the school-based Head Start/ECE programs I've visited than the private ones.

Incidentally, I am also a reader for the Children's Museum of Denver. Perhaps I'll see you at one of the story time sessions I lead. I read most weekends; Saturdays at noon and Sundays at 11 AM and 1 PM.

I wish you success in your search. I am so glad to learn you are invested in finding a great school for your child. I hope you will continue to be a part of your child's schooling well into his/her primary years, as that will certainly contribute to his/her success down the road.
