Good price for first car?

Question

i need to get a car, probably used, inexpensive of course...i have a job, but iwth minimum wage and only work about 4 hours on average a week..im going to try to get a new job if i can, and hopefully get more hours...

i just need a arough idea of how much it's going to cost me, i've looked at cars, but they're all brand new almost and the used ones i couldnt see how much they were...

so any idea will help...even any ideas for a first car will help, thanks in advance! =)

Get a used Honda Civic

Try to get a used Hybrid, or a Hybrid Honda Civic, it saves gas, and gets up to 50 mpg- i have a regular Honda Civic, its great!

Save your money. 4 hours a week on minimum wage won't pay for gas and insurance. A beater car is going to cost maybe 1000-$1500 plus insurance.

It varies consierably. It depends on the milage of the car, what year it is, where you buy it, etc, etc.. I have a friend who bought her first car for only $500, but mine cost $6000. You also have to take into account sales tax, paying for registration, repairs, so on and so forth. I have to tell you though, at only 4 hours a week, with minimum wage... Well, even if you live in Washington, which has one of the highest minimum wages in the country (and is where I live) you'll still barely be able to afford gas. I work 45 hours a week and struggle to pay for gas.

First time drivers usually have much higher rates than others. And it depends from car.
