  1. U can go the natural way and by a straightner such as a flat iron, but a 25.00 one not a 10.00 one.  You don't need to use much product with a straightener but something oil-based and light not water-based.  OR... you can buy a home perm. The entire kit comes in a box with everything that you will need to keep your hair straight for 4 to 8 weeks, depending on texture.   These relaxers are in the hair section at walmart or even at the hair supply stores. They are under 10 dollars.  Just read everything before you apply it. I ve included a great website that can help you out with more info.

  2. T3 Has an iron booster that makes the iron glide and straighten hair fast. It boosts the effect of the iron and has heat protection at the same time. I think you can get it at Sephora.com

  3. Well, I straighten my hair almost all of the time, and I'd say my hair is pretty healthy.

Just use a good moisture shampoo & condit.

I found that most of the oils and stuff for pre straightening just made my hair greasy fast and dull.

    Just straighten it without stuff.

  4. Biosilk works wonders for me!

  5. My all time favorite product is Redken Hot Sets.  Not only does it protect hair from the heat but it also helps set curl, or hold the straight.  I have also used the Tresseme spray product if cost is an issue. I don't like it as much, but it's not a bad product and would be better than doing your hair without any thermal protector.  NEVER straighten your hair without  some form of thermal protectant.  Also, if you have a dial on you straightener.  You don't need to have it on the highest setting.  I know, it feels like you do.  But you are really just doing more damage in the long run.  Just turn it down a notch or two and you'll save your hair in the long run.  Good luck!

  6. Try Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. All you do is spray some on before straightening, and it prevents a lot of heat damage! It's about $4-5 at most drugstores.

  7. Along with Tresseme Heat Tamer, you can also use Bed Head After party and another Bed Head product for split ends (Cant remember the name). They are both for split ends and they work great for straightening. Another good thing to use it starch. (Unscented) Spray it lightly, comb it through, then straighten. It works great to keep it straight all day long.
