  1. Gargle with water/salt mixture (or water/hydrogen peroxide...don't swallow)-it won't cure it but it will help clean it and help it heal. Also, don't drink milk or any other dairy. It lines the esophagus, creating a slime.

  2. it sounds really nasty and kinda is but if u dont wanna go out and buy something like Theraflu or another med then u could drink pickle juice...nasty yes but it works..  GL with that sore throat :)

  3. the gargling with warm salt water, alternated with the peroxide (don't swallow either one!) usually works for me.

in between, drink LOTS of hot tea, with honey and lemon is soothing to the throat. drinking lots of liquids in general helps (staying hydrated is good when you have a sore throat). i also love to have italian ice and/or slurpees, but that's a personal preference.

if it's because of a cold/bronchitis/cough, even better than the pickle juice is eating pepperocini peppers. i hate hot spicy things, but they really helped me! i've also heard that warming up some apple juice and adding cayenne pepper 'to taste' ??? does the same thing. the concept is to cut through the phlegm, if you have that kind of post-nasal drip-y sore throat.

if none of this stuff helps after 2-3 days, go to your doctor, get a strep test, and do as he says. if they give you antibiotics, finish em! otherwise it'll just come back, or make the bugs you had stronger.

    feel better.

  4. Check these home-remedies:

  5. gargle with salt water. it always worls for me. you have to do it a lot though. it will ease the soreness for a while. keep doing it if it helps.

  6. A plain old-fashioned hot toddy works very well for colds, sore throat, and flu.

Into a mug pour a jigger of Brandy, add a tablespoon of natural honey, and a fresh lemon slice, peel and all.  Then, fill the cup with hot water, just as though you were making a cup of tea.  It's delicious, and the honey and lemon both have serious healing properties.  The Brandy will help you to sleep.

  7. strepsil :)
