Good research topic for my research paper?

I need a good exciting topic for a 10 page research paper..

It CANNOT be about a person..

help me make it fun with an exciting topic :)

If not, I suggest the history of your favorite movie genre. My friend did a history of horror movies and it came out wonderful.

You could do a history of romantic comedies if you wanted. I think that would be neat. Plus, there would be a lot of information.

Figure out what you're really interested in, do some preliminary library research, preferably on the internet or scholarly journals, and come up with a decent thesis statement.

Don't forget to keep good records of your sources. You'll need them later to document your work.

I'm not sure what grade you're in, but I would suggest writing it about some company/corporation you like, like, I don't know, Abercrombie.  I did one on Starbucks once, and it was really interesting.  You can spend most of the paper talking about the history of the company, what it's doing now, and what it's plans are for the future (expansion, etc.), but really surprise your teacher by devoting part of the paper (1-2 pages) on the economics or business of the company, or the way the business fits into our culture.  For Starbucks, I tied the company into the coffee craze in America's youth and business world for the culture part, and Colombian coffee farms for the economic part.  For Abercrombie, for example, you could talk about how teenagers' need to be accepted is used by the company to get them to buy overpriced clothing, or you could take it in a more positive direction.
