Good resort golf courses in Northeast?

My buds and I are going to have a guys weekend and want to go golfing. What are good golf courses that are a part of a resort that would be fun for a weekend trip. My friends live in Boston and Philadelphia, so we want something in the northeast within driving distance of these cities.

Equinox in Vermont, the Lake of Isles in CT run by Foxwoods Casino, Balsams, , Check with the local travel agent who should have info on other resorts.

The Balsams resort is in New Hampshire, and is very old-school.  Great traditional courses; not cheap (this, the Greenbrier, and the Homestead typically do full meal plan rates...your room rate includes breakfast and lunch), but the place is gorgeous.

If you want something near Atlantic City, Marriott has a resort about 10 miles from the casinos; great golf (it used to host an LPGA tournament)- there's two courses (one right on the water).  Seascape or Seaview I think...obviously the casinos are a nice option (and it's only an hour or so from Philadelphia).

In Central/Western PA, Nemacolin Woods used to host a PGA Tour event; the course is a monster but it's beautiful.

The Greenbrier in WV...a haul but...it's the Greenbrier. Not cheap by any means, but a definite "bucket list" material.  

There are a ton of good courses in the Finger Lakes area of NY state; Golf Magazine did an article on them.

It's not a resort, but Bethpage Park (black course) is hosting the US Open next year (just outside of NY); if you and your buddies are into playing, it's a definite 'bucket list' course.

-Pinehurst Resort (about an hour from Raleigh); pure golf, very old school...we had a golf trip there and had the time of our lives.  Technically not in the Northeast, but summer is their "off" season; you may be able to find some decent deals.  Very much "bucket list" material.
