I am going to Paris at the end of June for the weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. There are going to be 10 of us going and we need a good but not very expensive restaurant to eat in. Probably about 50 Euros per person is the budget. Does anyone have any good recommendations. Thanks.

  1. There is a wonderful little restaurant on Montmartre called Au clair de la lune. It is situated in one of the quiet side streets, and I was there with a group of ten just a couple of weeks ago.

Address is 9 rue Poulbot, 75018 Paris.

    Phone number +33 (0)1 42 58 97 03

I've been there with several goups of people and have never heard anything but raves from anyone. They have a prix fixe menu which I believe is about EUR 30, and then wine will be in addition to that.

Chez Paul is another great little restaurant in the 11th arrondissement. 13 rue Charonne, 75011 Paris. Tel: +33 (0)1 47 00 34 57

    Have a happy birthday!

  2. Or the classic Parisian Brasserie, La Coupole. Great sole meuniere & steak au poivre. Dinner is about 35Euros without wine.

    102 Blvd. de Montparnasse

  3. Close to the Champs Elysee, I would suggest you Spicy http://www.spicyrestaurant.com  The food is flavored (and not really spicy), and the team is great. I think it's a good place for what you are looking for.

You may also find available restaurant on the free real time booking system http://www.lafourchette.com

  4. Jeeers!!!!!

But I admit it can be fun.

There is Le Boeuf sur le Toit, near the Champs Elysees, in the grandes brasseries traditions. Great food. Be careful about the wine, this is where most of your money can go if you don't check prices.

    34, rue du Colisée

    75008 Paris

    Subway : Saint-Philippe du Roule ou Franklin-D.Roosevelt

    Tel :  33 (0)1 53 93 65 55     Fax :  33 (0)1 53 96 02 32

Open every day from twelve to 3pm,

    and from 7pm to 1am.

Doorman in lunch time and the evening from Tuesday to Saturday

Many restaurants, if you book in advance, can let you also choose the menu in advance. It is easier for them. Ask if they do it too.

  5. This will earn the jeers of most native Parisians (all of whom seem to hate the place) but Nos Ancetres les Gaulois ( http://www.nosancetreslesgaulois.com/FR/ ) is good at accomodating groups.

They are more a place for fun than for great food (although the food is good enough) and the biggest draw is that all the wine you can drink is included in the price (37 euros)
