Good restaurants in norwich?

can you recommend any? come from london with loads of great places to eat out, unimpressed with norwich, looking for any type (italian, indian, thai, spanish), into all different types of food, thanks

I agree with timsdad - try RARE - it's excellent.

Also "The Fountain" it does sweet potato chips to DIE FOR!! it's a gourmet burger place, whereas RARE is a posh steakhouse.

The Racecourse Inn at Salhouse is fab as well, bit out of the city though, bit great ambience.

i love it here.

Fatsos on prince of wales rd is great though not if you are not into the whole fake american gangster places lol even though the food is brill :)

Pedros in chapelfeild in aowesome is food is one of the best and its a really fun place it is a mexican resteraunt and there is such a happy atmostphere there :)

Ah-so is a more pricey resteraunt it is japanese where evrything is cooked infront of you and done with all the tricks so it is practically as show as well lol thatis also on prince of wales rd, the price is high but i would say without a doubt it is the best food cooked in this city :D

Try The Walnut Tree Shades.  Here's what one customer said

"It may not have the sort of front that would challenge Lucy Pinder in the “bloody hell” stakes, but within the Shades rather understated back alley exterior is another cracking gem of a Norwich pub. In fact, this place is so good it is difficult to decide which of the many golden characteristics deserves the most praise.

The interior is natural to its core, with plush carpets lapping around a spacious and oldie frame that is resplendent with blues paraphernalia and distinctive memorabilia. There is not a whiff of the forced crappiness that sometimes affects pubs which try to conjure up character by ramming every available space with visual b*****ks, as clearly the Shades has been put together with some style and a large dollop of care. Hence, it is more likely you’ll pause to examine each separate hanging and sign, rather than walk to the landlord and ask him whether his pub was furnished by a car boot sale or a skip.

By the way, I believe the food's quite good!
