  1. That bike is not worth 900 bucks. For an extra 100 you can get a giant ocr2 with tiagra/105 components, rather than the sora/2200 garbage.

  2. I theink a haro would be perfect for you, and they are very good bikes and are worth ever penny you would spend on them

  3. It's not a bad bike, however if you are just getting into the sport, I would definitely go to a bike shop and get fitted and ride some first before buying a bike.  Even though frame sizes are usually measured from the center of the bottom bracket (where the pedals mount to the bike) to the top of the seat tube (the tube in the frame where the seat post goes into)  bikes very greatly in geometry.  A 58cm Specialized is much different than a 58 cm Cannondale.

Saving some $$ and getting a bike that is uncomfortable to ride is the worst you can do.  Since durability is something you want.  I'd look for a bike with Shimano 105 components.  They are very reliable, in fact my old road bike has 9 year old 105 components and still shifts like new.  Just with normal maintenance.   If a new bike with 105 is out of your budget,  look for a used one.  Good used equipment is often way better then low level new equipment.
