  1. Depends on their character and style.  If it's there first car, I would suggest maybe a used new car, proabably a sedan would be a good first car to have.  It's not too big,  not to hard to steer and most likely would be the most affordable.  I heard Toyata now carries a ten year warranty or one hundred thousand and somethng...depending on which model you choose.  THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO GET ONE THEY WILL DRIVE.  Doesn't have to be their first pick but at least not the one they don't like, something mutually agreeable on always works.

  2. everyone is going to tell you to get a volvo. i'm 16 too but imma get a '91 honda accord cuz i'm poor like that

  3. Okay then, depending on the country that you're living in.

    In UK - Renault Clio.

    In Malaysia - Proton Savvy.

In US - I believe you have something called the Mini Cooper?

    In Brazil - Ford Ranger.

    In Italy - Fiat Punto...

  4. Toyota Celica

    Acura Integra

    Toyota Paseo

    Mazda Protege 5

Nissan 240sx (only if you can find one that's stock)

  5. Its hard to go past a Toyota corolla. cheep to run, reliable, good on fuel.

  6. A mid-sized car like a Ford Escort or a Toyota Camry...A new vehicle is not recommended unless the teen is paying for it plus the insurance...If it is used, the vehicle should be in good mechanical condition and the vehicle maintenance history should be available (most reputable dealers should have these).

Remember, there is no such thing as a 'safe' vehicle because there is nothing on the vehicle that will prevent a collision...Youngsters in the ages you describe are the most vulnerable to death and injury in a motor vehicle...In spite of what little training he or she may have received in order to get a driver's license, they do not have the discipline, judgment and experience needed to handle situations that demand quick and true decisions and actions...And until these skills are acquired and honed, they are at a much higher risk than any other age group...Recommend waiting until the individual is at least 18 before issuing them their own vehicle.

    All the best.
