  1. If you are going to a public school, you have to stay in Richmond, and unless you have a very good reason, you have to go to the school in your catchment area. Most of the high schools in Richmond are fairly large (>1000 students). If you live in east Richmond, you will likely go to HJ Cambie. Central Richmond - Hugh Boyd, Palmer, McMath, McNair. Steveston and south Richmond - London/Steveston Secondary. There are some others, including a new school at #4 Road and Garden City that I can't remember the name of. Also some private schools.  There are no junior high schools in Richmond, they are all grade 8-12.

  2. the schools in Richmond arent that great i would suggest searching the ones in Vancouver/Burnaby area.

Stay away from John Oliver, Burnaby South, Sir Winston Churchill, Killarney, and David Thomson.....

you should go to Carver Christian High School....its a really really good school!!! =D

    good luck!!

  3. Richmond is in a different school district from Vancouver.

You will not be allowed to attend a school outside of the school district where you live, without paying tuition fees.

I'm a teacher, and I do not consider that private or religious schools offer an education any better than what is available in the public schools.  While it is true that people who would spend a lot of money for private school tuition probably have a higher-than-average commitment to education, and parents who pay extra for Christian schools have shared values, it is also true that some kids are sent to one or the other to "smarten them up".

I will be attending my 40th John Oliver reunion this weekend.  Things may have changed since my day, but in 1968 JO was the largest high school in Canada and we pumped out more university graduates per capita than any other public school in British Columbia.

Go to the nearest public high school if you live in Richmond.  Take advantage of the chance to learn Mandarin, which will be your key to prosperity in the years to come.
