nthnpnn- An M4 (.223) is much more accurate than an AK-47 (7.62x39), i had one and it is garbage at 100 yrds. Also the action of the rifle isnt all that important in determining acuracy/ range, you have to count in the length of the barrel, lands and groves, and oh, dont get your facts from movies, lol, or Idaho, LOL.

  1. I like NCStar

But they are what they are

A $25 scope good for occasional use and better suited for 22s

For better quality and staying in the affordable range look at Simmons or Bushnell

I haven't used Tasco in years so I don't know about now , but they used to be great scopes for the money

  2. I hate to say this but the NC Star is junk. It pops on and off and will not go back to zero because it is sloppy Chinese c**p.

Make up your mind. Do you want a scope of iron sights?

If scope: leave the d**n scope on and quit s******g with the mount- you are the reason it wont hold zero.

Iron sights leave the scope off.

If you would like a close facsimile of an ACOG look at Bushnell Trophy http://www.shopbushnell.com/product_deta... and try Optics planet

  3. Tasco is a brand my family has trusted for decades. That said, I would trade in the .223 for a 7.62x39. Sure, it's not as flat shooting, but outside of 200 yards it's better to use a bolt-action anyway (keeping in mind that the bolt-action is the most accurate type). You know what they say: If you shoot a guy with a .223, and he finds out, he'll be really mad at you.

  4. how about a sweet 223 scope and  a rail on rail system,

mount sweet 223 on a removable rail that mounts onto the fixed rail with thumb screws or quick release lever.
