Good shampoo for fragile hair?

I was bleaching my hair alot myself last summer ['07]. i went back to dark [my natural color] and got a trim last october.

i have gotten it trimmed once or twice since then, as i'm trying to grow it out. it is still very prone to split ends to the point where i feel like i have to trim it every month.

thing is, like i said i'm trying to grow it.

Is there a shampoo/conditioner anyone can recommend to protect it?

I'm NOT using a flatiron. I use the blowdryer for like 2 or 3 mins just to get my sidebangs slightly set and tousel my top layers....but i leave most of it damp.

  1. no shampoo

the shampoo and conditioner in the stores all strip your hair of its natural things and it makes it more vulnerable to damage.

  2. use whatever brand works for you but use their color care. color care products are the most gentle. do not use baby shampoo!!! although it sounds like it would be gentle it is actually the most harsh.

  3. I have the same problem. When I talked to my hairdresser about it she said that most of the shampoos you buy in supermarkets are harsh on your hair as they contain silicone (i think she said the worst ones were pantene and head & shoulders). The best shampoo and conditioner I've used is self-absorbed by Bedhead as it gives it moisture and prevents splitting. It's not as cheap as supermarket brands but its way better and you can get it much cheaper on ebay :D hope this helped!

  4. try pantene pro v
