Good shortboard?

looking for a new shortboard 5'10"-6'

suggestions for local shapers in NorCal would be great, or any models i could check out online... CI, Al Merrick, Webber...?

  1. look at croyde bay surf shop they r exelent i went there in summer last year they have excelent surf boards and great ideas for what is the right chois for you

  2. I like Rusty's line because they seem to carry boards that have a bigger gurth on them. I'm assuming that 's what your looking for if your surfing NorCal, right?

  3. Yes to all of those.  Better yet search out a local shaper since their boards will be more tuned to your local break.

  4. You mentioned some great boards, but check out what makes the local scene. What sells best in your area often sells best because the boards work well for local conditions. Don't be bashful, check out having a board shaped for you. I have had two custom boards in forty years of surfing, and both were great (one still is, I just got too old, slow and fat for my 6'4") Just avoid sleazy, mass-produced pop outs.
