Question:

Good side with homemade mac and cheese?

We are making homemade macaroni and cheese and we want a good side dish to go with it. Any ideas??

  7. i agree whole heartedly with the steamed brocolli--mmmmmm! Any steamed green veggie for that matter.  

  8. cole slaw mashed potatoes soft drinks ( lemonade, iced tea)  Fountain drinks( soda).

  9. barb q pork you can do a pork butt in crock pot...w cole slaw on the sandwiches..So yummy!!

    beer butt chicken might be less time..depends what time you are serving it.

    8 C chopped fresh pumpkin

    4 C chicken broth

    3 small, tart apples, peeled and chopped

    1 medium onion, chopped

    2 T lemon juice

    1/2 tsp. ground ginger

    2 garlic cloves, minced

    1/2 tsp. salt

    In a slow cooker, combine all the ingredients;  mix well.  Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until pumpkin and apples are tender.  Cool pumpkin mixture slightly;  process in batches in a blender or food processor.  Transfer to a large saucepan;  heat through.  Makes 9 servings.
