  1. I can't give you a good idea of what it is going to cost you because I ski at most of the Eastern NY resorts for nothing. I work at a Pocono ski resort and we have some good deals with the NY places.

I know Hunter usually has some good deals as does Windham.

Personally, I'd avoid going to any resort in the Catskills and Adirondacks on the weekends. It's WAY too crowded. Mid-week is usually pretty good. Heck, I've been able to leave my skis unlocked at Hunter on a Wednesday...I'd never think of doing that on a Saturday.

I like Gore the best out of the NY places I've skied. Hunter is #2. Everyplace else is good for only one day..maybe two days if you are a novice or intermediate skier. I've also skied at Windham, Whiteface, Bellayre, and Greek Peak. To me, they were all good for a day, but if I had to ski there two days in a row I think I'd get bored.

Check around for a deal where you can get a Windham-Bellayre-Hunter deal. All three are close to each other and it would make a good 4 day trip. You're best bet to wrangle a multi-resort deal might be through a hotel. If you have AAA, they might be able to get you some deals too.

    Have Fun!

  2. Gore, Whiteface and Belleayre mountains are operated by New York State and are very reasonably priced, especially if you avoid weekends or Holidays.  Gore and Whiteface in particular are huge mountains with great runs of all types.  Gore has some beautiful long intermediate cruising runs.
