  1. Hamster

    Gerbil

    Mouse

    Rat

    Guinea Pig

    Rabbit

Royal/Ball Python - they're not fluffy but they make good first time snakes.

Take a look at this: http://www.newenglandreptile.com/nerd/in...

    Hope that helps! =]

  2. I would suggest your standard Fancy Rat. They're cheap and furry. Big enough to take out of the cage without fear of losing it, but small enough to be kept in a cage most of the time. I've also heard that they smell less than feeder mice.

Other pets *cough*rabbits*cough* require a lot of knowledge, time, money, and space. But if you have a rat phobia, or if you're okay with having a pet that's a little more of a challenge, you might consider a hamster or a guinea pig.

If you can't decide, try checking your local animal shelter. They may have something small and furry that needs a home. The shelter near my house carries guinea pigs, hamsters, and parakeets.

  3. a rabbit is a bad pet for a 12 year old,  they need a lot of time. read the link provided in the source and you will see why.  a cat or a guinea pig are both good pets.

  4. well i am thirteen .and i have had many pets but here are my ideas.

    hamster(they stink though)

a rat (you probably dont like that suggestion)

gunne pig (like a hamster but bigger )

ferret(they stink bad but they are very cute)

    chinchilla

    mouse

    oppossum

there is a few suggestions . sorry if i dont help you

  5. You should get your child a snapping turtle, it is very calm unless he/she is being an obnoxious brat.

  6. teddy bear hamster!!!!

    hope i helped!!!!!!!!!

  7. When I was 12 we had guinea pigs. My mom actually did a lot of research and let me breed them. It was a good way to have "the talk" aka explain what s*x is and how everything works. It was a lot of fun to watch the female get big and feel the babies kicking in her stomach, and even more fun with the babies were born and I was able to have them as my own until they were old enough to sell to the pet store :o)

  8. Well you could do a rabbit or for something a little out of the ordinary try a hedgehog

  9. NOT a rabbit.  I don't think rabbits are good pets for children, rabbits don't like to be picked up much and kids don't get that, they think the pet is there for their own amusement.  I had a rabbits when I was about 12 and I never understood why it was so 'scared or grumpy', but really it just wanted to be on the ground.  They are better for teens or older who can accept that you pat them and let them run around and that they will come up to you when they want to for attention.

Perhaps a guinea pig might be better?

  10. Hamsters are nocturnal.  Kids are not.  No hamsters.

    Get a Guinea pig.

They are affectionate and smart and cuddly, and they don't stink.

  11. a rat or mouse i am 13 and i love them sooo much

  12. A russian hamster. They are so cute and friendly.

    bye

  13. Maybe rat, they are very clever, like to be active.,if only one then it should have often contact with human.
