  1. depends on where you live, how much exercise you are willing to provide to your dog. if you are willing to take him to the groomers every six months. i would suggest beagle, jack russell terrier and cocker spaniel, but you should know a lot more about a breed then what people can tell you. go to www.dogbreedinfo.com and press the breed selector quiz, it will show the best dogs for you, and choose from there, raising a pup is a big responsibility, and i would recommend you know a lot about training, and the breed before you get one. good luck :)

  2. yes, try jack russel terrier, they are playfull energetic and loveeeeee kids.

    i have 1

  3. westies!!!!!  depending on the age of your children.  they are better with older children, rather than infants and toddlers.

    definately look into them:)

  4. Beagle

  5. a d**n chihuahua they will annoy the **** out of your kids good luck

  6. well i would recommend a mini poodle because they are cute for kids and they are friendly and cute, they are indeed small, fun, and good dogs , i myself have one and it is a nice dog to own.

  7. I have been told that small dogs are worst for children.

Maybe something not as small. Like a corgi.

    But I am not sure.

My sister has a really amazing docile shih tzu, but I don't think they're all like that.

  8. I love boston terriers.

  9. shetland sheepdog.

they are adorable, and are great with kids&people.

  10. shih tzu. they are small. love attention and greet you like youve been gone forever. it helps that they just barely shed and are hypo allergenic. for the friendly part. you have to choose the puppy that seems most friendly then train it to stay that way. my shih tzu is very friendly

  11. Dachshund!!!  They are awesome!!!

  12. Beagliers. We have 2 at home called Lilly and Toby. They are so gentle with my baby cousin they sit next to him and protect him. LOL! They r also so cute. they r crossed btween Beagles and King Charles Cavies. They are rather small and you can get long hair or short hair. Look em up on the internet. They don't shed much... well mine don't anyway. They also don't fight and are loving towards anyone. Good Luck. *=P

  13. Coton de Tulears are friendly and cute, and supposedly very good with kids.  Here's the breed club website.  Good luck with your search!

  14. Pugs They are so adorable

  15. Pugs, hands down. Get a well bred one to avoid many of the health issues they're prone to.

  16. ok . they are not really small but Golden retrivers are the best :D they are good with kids and love to be around people. They will instantly become one of the family :D i have 2 :D

  17. I'd say a Shih-Tzu. They're really cute and love kids :) Or you could always go with my personal favorite, the PAPILLION! They're adorable little dogs. Good luck finding your future friend(:

  18. My favorite web site for researching dog breeds is www.puppydogweb.com. The will tell you all about the dogs personalities and even give you lists of reputable breeders.

  19. I currently have several small breeds... a Jack Russell Terrier, and several Chihuahuas. I also have a Yorkie and he is awesome! The only problem with him is the upkeep on his hair... It is very long and he often has to see a groomer. But other than that he is the perfect pup! Very well-tempered and well-behaved, good with children and even strangers. He has been the perfect addition to my family! Whatever you choose, just be sure it "feels right". This dog, after all, will become a part of your family so it's important to pick the right breed. Do some homework to find out what's right for you! Good luck!

  20. I have a coton de tulear. They are ADORABLE. Very friendly, spunky, small, good with children. I also have a cocker spaniel & a yorkshire terrier, but my coton has all the personality!

They are pretty expensive -- I paid 1000 bucks for her, but a REALLY GOOD quality one is about 2500-3000 $$. She's totally worth it. The breed is new in the United States, only since the 70s have they been here, so they're not overbred with lots of diseases and they live a lot longer than other small dogs.

With her long hair (not fur), she look like a miniature sheep dog!

  21. cockapoo!!!

they are SO sweet and they don't shed much either.

it's a mix between a cocker spaniel and a poodle.

better yet, go to a local animal shelter and see the dogs in person. each dog is different.

  22. Here are some suggestions that I think are very good family dogs and great with children!

    Jack Russel Terrier

    Pug

    Maltese

    Toy Poodle

    Sheltie

    Carin Terrier

    King Charles Spaniel

    Rat Terrier

    Cocker Spaniel

    Bichon Frise

    Hope this helps!

  23. I would suggest a papillon dog or a shetland sheepdog.

Papillons are small dogs who don't shed as much, but are very loyal to their family.

Shelties are also very loyal and intelligent. They are double coated so they shed a bit more.

  24. Go to the pound or shelter with your family and look for a young small dog.  You can also try rescue agencies.  Often they have great dogs that need homes.  You will be able to interact with them and see how they get along with the family.  You will be saving a life.

  25. well i can't give a specific type but definitely not anything  agressive.  some dogs also have their own personalities as well so you might want to explore separate dogs too. check out this site i found

  26. a miniature pinscher. theyre small, and very nice. especially tolerant around kids. I have had one for six years, and she has never bitten anyone. I also know two other familys that have them, and theirs are the same.

  27. cavalier king charles spaniel we had one when we grew up it was awesome and royalty

  28. Havanese, Pugs, and Shih Tzus are known to be tolerant of children.

  29. Cocker Spaniel. Loyal Devoted and Protective
