what are some good soccer drills i can practice by myself, like, in the park? none of my friends who live close-by can really play soccer, so i sort of have to practice alone.

i've been dribbling the ball around cones, but want to start doing other drills to get ready for soccer season. anyone know of any good ones?

  1. Juggle and do learn to do freestyle soccer. I have played soccer for over 10 years and I started juggling about a year ago more intensely. I noticed a huge difference in my ball control. If you get bored, like I said, do freestyle. It is very fun and can be done alone.

I also use a speed ladder. It helps keep your balance and acceleration sharp. You can buy one at d**k's Sporting goods. Do the speed ladder for about 10 mins and juggling for atleast 30 mins. In a few weeks you will notice a big difference in your ball control.

  2. precision passing (passing accurate). by trying to pass to like a tree or something in the same spot, over and over again.

  3. andy is right...juggling helps a lot and its great because you can do it easily alone. you can also do conditioning (running, weight lifting etc.)also, try and find a board or empty building to kick the ball against so it can rebound to you. that's what i normally do, but make sure you aren't doing any damage!!

  4. i have been playing soccer for 11 years and juggling helps a lot. juggle and mess around with the ball for an hour or so. that really helped my first touch. also agility ladders help. i run 3-4 miles a day but just running won't help. i jog for 1 minute then run for a minute then i will sprint for a minute and i walk for 30 seconds and then repeat it. i know you said you don't have many friends close by that are good but if you are with a friend who is good go on a real tennis court and play soccer tennis. me and my brother or my friends do it lol it really helps and its fun. i go out to the soccer fields during the summer and strike a ball with my brother and play a little 1v1.
