Good sociology documentaries/movies?

I'm really interested how little groups and societies work, especially after reading Lord Of The Flies, and seeing a couple episodes of that show where kids are in charge.

Anyone know any good documentaries, movies, or even books that deal with the same thing?

    There's a 1990 film of LOTF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_of_the...

I would also suggest that you read Nineteen Eight four - George Orwell.  There is a full list of dystopian novels below - many of them carry the same or similar themes.

  3. Lets see: back to the future, the Godfather (for sure), there was this one documentary about a man who stayed with homeless people for awhile, not too sure on the books. Go to Netflix and go under the subcategory of Sociology, got some good stuff there!

  4. Well i don't know if you're gonna be interested in this but i was watching a documentary on El Salvador and it's gang life, it goes by parts, i think it reaches part 10, it was very interesting to see how different and more violent the gangs are over there then here in the U.S, so if you want to see it look up " 18st gang El Salvador" on YouTube.
