Question:

Good sources for homeschooling paper?

Hello all, I am currently in a class about the Religious Right in America. As part of our final project, we are required to write a paper on any aspect of life pertaining to the "religious right." For those of you who have never heard this phrase, it is essentially referring to those members of the community who are strongly religious and typically more conservative. I have chosen to research homeschooling for my paper. I need some primary sources on homeschooling and am having a terrible time finding any. By this I mean works written by leaders or members of a religious group, be it Evangelical, Jewish, Mormon, etc. Does anyone have any resources I could use to search from, or better yet, a few works that would be applicable? Thank you in advance.

  1. Contact http://www.setonhome.org/. This is a Catholic Homeschool site. They have their contact info on the site. They send out monthly news letter too.

  2. To first understand homeschooling you must understand how the present school structure came about. This is a great resource.   http://www.johntaylorgatto.com/index.htm

Though many homeschoolers are of the "religious right" persuasion, more are not.  Most just dont want to raise their children to be good little machines for the government and it's industrial partners.

  3. Try hslda.org. It's an organization a lot of homeschoolers join and has quite a few articles about homeschooling.
