Good speaker system for macs to buy in UK?

Question

Im looking 4 speakers for my macbook so i can crank up the tunes. any suggestions which speakers? my friend seemed to say that to get speakers that amplify sound you need to get ones that plug into the wall or something as well as the computer? is this true? or can you get ones with no plug for wall, only computer like when you put speakers/headphone into a "walkman"?

any suggestions on what speakers to buy my macbook (preferably available in UK online shops) with links would be gratefully accepted.

i love my logitech z2300 speakers, they are freaking loud and clear. and quite good looking. also, they are well priced.
