Good speakers for my '00 Mazda Protege´?

I've been looking at different speakers for my mazda. Nothing too expensive but something that will have good bass and sound quality. After doing a little research I'm set on getting the Alpine S-Type 6x9's for the rear and 5x7's for the front. Anyone agree or disagree?

I disagree. I hear so much hype about these alpine speakers, yes they were good in the 80's and 90's, but not anymore compared to the crazy speakers that other brands offer. If you have $150 to spend I recommend going with any speakers that are polks. They hit so hard on bass, are loud as ever, and the clearest by far that I've ever heard. It's a personal choice though, what your ears hear some other people may not.

sound  is  a  personal  choice  and  alpine  is  a  styrong  name.  if  they  work  for you  at  your  price  then  it =s a good  deal.  make sure  that  the  instalation  is  similar  to  what  might  be  in  your car.  trunks  and  boxes  affect  speaker  bass
