Good spicy food recipes

My husband and I are trying to figure out something new to cook. He loves ~ LOVES ~ spicy food and we're kind of in the mood for mexican. Does anyone know a good (easy) recipe for something spicy. He's a picky eater so it cant have anything with onions or tomatoes or vegtables.....pretty much meat, cheese, sauce, and rice. But he's getting better at trying new things. When ever we go out to a Mexican Restaurant he always gets Sizzling Faijitas and I normally get something like..... Chicken Faijta Nachos. But anything new, good, easy, and spicy would be good!!

  1. i was going to say fajitas, but instead of using peppers use the spicy jalapenos.

As a mexican myself, i will tell u that the hottest/spiciest peppers u will ever eat are the Habaneros. Usually these are made into a salsa, and then enjoyed with beef or chicken tacos or just on the side of a meal.

So my suggestion would be to make tacos! u can fry the chooped chicken or whatever it is that ur making the tacos of. (tacos are eaten with chopped onion, cilantro , and tomato =/ )

To make the salsa, it all depends how u want it....its easy  just browse for the recipe on making it.

  2. Have you tried Thai food??? Its a different kind of spiciness than Mexican, but excellent....Go to this website to find many recipes as well as a place to buy authentic Thai spices, chilis, lemongrass, curry, etc...importfoods.com If you order stuff from them, they get it to yu in a hurry, and its pretty reasonable cost wise.

  3. I don't cook a lot of Mexican food but I also like to cook things very spicy.  Here are a couple ideas.

I do a spicy orange beef that is quick and easy.

In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup orange juice,  1/4 teaspoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, mix well.

Heat sesame oil (or olive oil) in a large nonstick skillet over mediumhighheat. Add 2-3 cloves of garlic and a good amount of crushed red pepper - sauté for aminute. Add 1lb of steak cut into bit size pieces (i use sirloin) and 1/4 white onions and sauté for 2 minutes more. Add the juice mixture, cook for 2 minutes or until the sauce thickens, stirring frequently. Serve beef over a white rice.

Another dish that includes meat and rice with nothing else can be a good chicken curry.  If you are not into making your own curry sauce look into something like this http://www.curryking.com/

  4. This is a family recipe. He won't notice the tomato, I guarantee it. This is a traditional Green Chile very popular in the west. If you put it on potatoes or nacho chips, you will fall in love. Enjoy!

    Ingredients:

    -2 pounds pork, cubed

-1 pound of hot green New Mexico green chiles (a.k.a.Anaheim or Hatch), roasted and peeled. After you peel, shred the chile with a fork to clean and cut, by holding the stem and running the fork lengthwise. If you want it hot, leave some of the seeds in

-2 ounces of finely chopped garlic

    -2 medium tomatoes diced small

    -1 1/2 teaspoon cumin

    -1 teaspoon oregano

-1/16 of a cup cilantro chopped

    -1 Tbsp garlic powder

-Add salt, a little less salt than you like as sauce will thicken

    Instructions:

-Brown meat, then add 4 teaspoons of flour and continue to stir a few minutes

-Add all other ingredients except chiles, cilantro and garlic powder.

-Simmer on medium for 10 minutes, stirring moderately

-Add green chiles and garlic, Stir in for about 5 minutes

-Add cilantro and 4 cups of cold water and slow cook for at least 2 hours (no lid)

Serve with your favorite, fresh cooked beans, Mexican rice and flour or corn tortillas. Good to also have cheese and limes available.
