Question:

Good steak marinade for picky eaters?

Okay, my boyfriend and I want to grill out, but we're both pretty picky eaters. What are your suggestions? How long do I grill/marinde? We need some serious help...haha Thank you!

  1. You won't believe this but you should. It's cheap so you can try it and pitch it if you want. But it is very good.

    1 Cup brewed warm coffee.

    1/2 Cup water.

    2 Beef bullion cubes.

    1/2 tsp Coarse ground black pepper.

    Mix together until bullion is totally melted, mix may need to be heated.

    Cool the mixture and pour over meat in a zip lock bag, Squish around a few times and again each 1/2 hour.

    Marinate about 2 hours. Much more and your meat can get mushy.

    Grill as you would normally.

    Happy steaks.

I like Lawry's marinades best, and there's a big variety to choose from.  You might like the Mesquite or Hickory.  A-1 Texas Mesquite marinade is good too .......  You didn't say WHAT you're grilling, so it's hard to tell you how long to do it!  But, generally, you'd have a hot and less-hot section of the BBQ.  Sear whatever on the hot side (both sides of it) and then move to the less-hot side to continue cooking.  Chicken will take longer than steak, and you need to watch it, because the skin can catch on fire:)

  3. Choice Steak, any A1 marinade,or create your own.

    Depending on the toughness of the steak is how you determine the length of marination and how much acidity you will need in the marinade in order to tenderize the tough muscle. For a tougher cut,you would want to marinate for at least three hours.

    If you were to marinade chicken,20-30 minutes is plenty of time since the meat is not as tough.

  5. Get a GOOD quality piece of meat.

    Rub both sides with olive oil, then season with sea salt and freshly-ground black pepper.

    And grill immediately.

    I don't recommend fancy marinade as they take away from the flavor of the meat.
