  1. Okay, If you want great strings for tops spin I'd go with glass-fibre. They are very controlling and the ball does not roll of you strings!

So this is perfect for topspin, so you can also get good slices. You can get these strings put on at a local tennis club or you can buy it over the net and ask someone to adjust them for you.

    Have fun!

  2. Okay, here's my opinion on the strings:  You need to make sure you have the basics down so that you can create spin on your own, before you get strings to help.  Now, it sounds like you are looking for the right reasons, so congratulations.  Some people want to get them in place of actually learning how to put proper spin on the ball.

Really, any textured string will do.  But there's a few things to note about textured strings.  Some textured strings include the texturing in the gauge rating.  So for these strings, you'll probably want to use 15 gauge, as the core will actually be 16 gauge, and the core really determines the durability.  Other strings, like Gamma Ruff, just has the texturing wrapped around the rest of the string.  For these, 16 gauge is fine, since the texturing doesn't count in the gauge.

Just reading some string reviews on tenniswarehouse.com, I found several that seem pretty good (I don't have any personal experience with textured strings).

That Gamma Ruff had great reviews.  It seems to be very durable, but it sacrifices feel.

If you like feel, the Head FiberGEL spin 16 sounds good.  It's a softer string, so it'll probably break sooner than the Ruff, but it has good feel.

If you don't mind spending a little extra, everybody loves Luxilon Big Banger 5-star stings (15L gauge).  Good spin, and good durability.

I'll let you take a look for yourself:

Now, tension is another story.  Basically, stringing looser gives more power (and some say a little extra spin potential).  Stringing tighter gives maximum control.  It sounds like you want a balance of both, so I'd say go right in the middle of the tension range.  If you favor control slightly over power (or vice-versa), go 1 or 2 lbs on that side of the range from the middle.

  3. For spin the higher the gauge the more bite you will have on the ball of course that faster you will break them depending on how much spin you need to put on the ball to keep in play and how much money you have should be deciding factors in what gauge you choose I believe 19 gauge is the highest I usually use 17 gauge good fit for most players who need more then just average run of the mill stuff.

  4. I think a good tension would be about 60ish for good control and power. And I believe the recommended string for the aeropro drive is babolat pro hurricane tour, which is pretty nice at providing spin.
