I want to study abroad in Japan, what are some good, safe programs for high schoolers? I only want to do it for a semester, if possible. And I don't want to spend more than $6,000.

  1. If you want to do this for under $6,000 your only real viable option without scholarships is Rotary Youth Exchange.

You might also check with Youth for Understanding, s they have many scholarship programs to Japan. You may qualify for one.

    Both are top quality programs.

  2. It's very difficult to spend a semester in another country for so little money. So although this program isn't at the price you would like, I figure I'd at least show you in case you can earn more for a trip.

I know for a fact that this group is very good at makign sure students are settled in and that their host families are well picked. I did a summer program with them last year and I couldn't have been happier with the care they provided in finding me a good host family as well as a very inviting school.

  3. I'm not exactly sure if there are any programs for high schoolers for study abroad. The only programs that I've heard of start at the college level :/
