Good surfing near Maryland?

Question

Ok i went to Hawaii last summre and got surf lessons and love it. The problem is i live in Maryland and i didn't think there were any good surfing spots. Anyone know any?

I went to Ocean City Maryland and the waves suck, they are too close to the shore and only two ft high. during after, they were having a surf competition and im like WTF ? i dont see any waves, why were they there for. try going to beaches in New Jersey , anywhere on the east coast but Maryland

assateague island, ocean city.  Check out surfline.com and look up atlantic - northeast - delmarva.  It will hook you up with where to go.  Also, you can go to any beach town and hit up the local surf shop.  You can get a board and lessons there, and if you are a customer they will give you directions to the best spots.
