Good sushi, gross sushi?

I had sushi once and it was kind of gross.

I'm really in the mood for something exotic lately, particularly Japanese.

What are some good kinds of sushi?

What kind of Makizushi (巻き寿司 is good?

Nigirizushi is the real sushi. Makizushi is prepared an eaten in Japan but was pretty much invented for the gaijin. Makizushi is good fresh or, if a day old, fried in oil. But go for the real stuff. Nigirizushi's best offerings are maguro (tuna, there is a white tuna, too) and if raw fish frightens you the ebi (shrimp) is often steamed first. But, really, try it. It's not like you are eating guts. It's the muscle you eat and if you like rare steak then sushi is for you.

There is a special recipe that our local sushi restaurant has on their menu. It's called a Yum Yum Roll. It has a crab and Japanese mayo mixture, then rice, then seaweed, then it is lightly fried in tempura batter. Very delicious! But like I said it's a local special, I think. Raw sushi has alot to do with the quality and freshness of the fish used. Although I have never tried raw sushi myself. But hopefully I'll get the guts someday! Have you ever tried Thai food? It's very good and exotic. If you don't have aThai restaurant, you can find Thai dinner products and your local grocery store. They are very good, you should pick some up and make it for dinner tonight!

if you want to enjoy some good and Japanese and don't wanna have a bad experience...

I would definitely advise you to spend a little more money on a good local japanese resturant ... the experience and money is worth it... go to the one that has a counter display and see for yourself how fresh the food is ...

asK for what sushi is good... always ask the waitress/ chef to recomand what is good....Japanese chef are proud of their selection of fish and etc.

for me, every fish is different there is no good or bad , they taste all different ...... only the freshness mades a huge difference..
