Anyone knows any good tapa restaurants in LA or Orange county? My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to take him to a traditional tapa restaurant that offers local tapas, such as patatas bravas, croquetas de jamon, pa amb tomaquet, and sangria. I've searched online and it seems like Tinto Tapas Espana, Ole! Tapas and AOC are the most popular, but I haven't seen any feedback on their food. Has anyone been there? Any other suggestions?

  1. This place is really good...

    Tapas Restaurant

    www.tapasnewportbeach.com

    4253 Martingale Way

    Newport Beach, CA 92660

    (949) 756-8194

  2. Cobras & Matadors has GREAT tapas (a bit fancier than "traditional", but not much), and each plate will run you around $8, so you can get several and share them.  Make a reservation, though!!!  Also, I prefer the Hollywood Blvd location--- it's bigger, and they serve alcohol.

I don't recommend BarCelona in Pasadena.  Mexican food and Spanish food are not the same!!

As for your picks: Ole!Tapas is pretty good, Tinto Tapas less so, and I don't know about AOC.

    Enjoy!

  3. I've been to Ole! in Sherman Oaks. It's very good, and it has a really nice atmosphere. Very cool, chic spot. I'm not an expert on tapas, but I found their food to be very gourmet.

Have you looked on Yelp? There should be reviews there...

  4. Cobras & Matadors is my boyfriends favorite restaurant of all time.  they serve tapas, but i don't know how traditional they are.

    7615 Beverly Blvd

    Los Angeles, CA, 90036
