Good tasting cocktails?

So my boyfriend and I are moving into a condo together next month and I'm wanting to have some of my girlfriends over for a sort of housewarming thing and was wondering what kind of drinks/cocktails we could make? We're girly girls and we all really like the fruity drinks. Any suggestions?

  1. Hmm, I suggest you take a look at some of these girly drinks at Liquor Live

  2. Sangria is always a winner.  Make a large pitcher and enjoy!

1 bottle of fruity red wine

1 cup of brandy or orange liqueur

    4 tablespoons of sugar

    1 orange, cut into segments

    1 apple, cut into wedges

    1 lemon, cut into rings

    Sparkling soda water

Mix the wine, brandy, and sugar in a large pitcher. Add the fruit and let it chill for a few hours. Serve by the glass and top with a little soda water for fizz.

You can also do this with white wine. Use a Spanish roja for the wine and apple liqueur.  Instead of oranges and lemons, use grapes and raspberries. This makes a very pretty drink.

  3. have a martini party and make chocolate martinis, carmel apple martinis, and cosmos

  4. introduced to Hurricanes a few weeks ago, very sweet but can pack a wollop if you use quality rum... its sweetend with passion fruit, and bacardi and some others make premixxed versions.

other than that, mangos are in season and are amazing in most cocktails, but my favorite is mango margaritas, sweet but at the same time, manly enough if your boyfriend is there he won't feel out.

  5. We have a monthly neighborhood 'girls" bunco night, and there's always 2 blenders going - with margaritas (regular, strawberry or mango).  You can buy frozen margarita mixes, bottled or dry....  Also, TGIFriday's makes a big bottle of Mudslide, with the liquor already in it, and that's good on the blender with ice too.  And, here's another one to make that tastes like a chocolate banana milkshake:

    FUNKY MONKEY

    1/2 jigger creme de banana

1 jigger white creme de cacao

    2 jigger cream

    ice ......all on the blender

  6. Make a punch! Here's my own recipe:

    Rastafarian Punch

    Sprite

    Sweet and Sour mix

    Mango juice

    Grenadine

    Malibu rum

    In a punch bowl:

Pour about ¼ full of Sprite.

    Pour in some Mango juice

Pour in some Sweet and Sour mix, but not as much as you did the Mango juice

    Stir really well

Add Malibu rum to taste. Make it however strong you want. Make sure it's stirred well.

Add a little Grenadine to add a red color to the bottom.

It is sooo good! People will be asking for the recipe!

*Little hint: Get a jello mold and pour in the same levels of Sprite, Mango juice, Sprite, and a jar of Maraschino cherries with the juice. Freeze it overnight and use that in place of ice when you serve it. That way it stays cold and won't get watered down, like if you used ice.

Someday I'll finally sit down and measure how much of each to put in there, lol!

Here's another one that does have measurements, that we made for a party and didn't even get to drink it because everyone else drained it! They all asked for the recipe!

    Rum Punch:

2 large cans frozen orange juice

    3 small cans frozen limeade

2 small cans frozen lemon juice

1 8-oz bottle of pure lime juice

    1 qt water

    1/2 lb confectioner's sugar

    1 1/2 fifths light rum

    1 small block of ice

    1 box strawberries

    1 1/2 qts sparkling water

Mix all the fruit juices with the water. Add sugar to taste. Add rum and taste again. Place block of ice in a punch bowl and pour punch over ice. Add strawberries. Just before serving, add sparkling water.

    Enjoy!
