How about The Gemma Doyle Trilogy? It starts with A Great and Terrible Beauty.

They are great long books (the third one is the longest) that are romance, fantasy, and mystery.

Not a romance, but a really good book.  UGLIES by Scott Westerfeld.  It's about a world where everyone is "ugly" and when they are 16 they get to have an operation that makes them "pretty."  A really good book about self discovery.
