  1. Ha! I'm 13 too, and that's cool. Anyway, I run a 6:22, but that's not great. Go for under 6 minutes, if you can! I sprint mostly, so I try for under 6 too. Good luck!

  2. well if you're running it in track, if you're looking to place at every meet, like the elite then definately under 6:20. but if you are like  in the middle of the pack then I would say around 6:30-6:50. you should know where you stand.

first lap split is always fast. no matter what. so maybe 1:30's but the 2nd and 3rd lap are always slowest so go for 1:30's- 1:40's. the important thing is to kick it in the end (last 400m) and pick up the pace.

    good luck on your mile!

  3. when i was 13 i ran 8.40ish...

im now at 6.32 and 15...

    good luck!

  4. Under around 6:30 would have won or placed at every meet I've coached in my ten years as a MS track coach.  Our MS record is 5:54 and I have had a couple girls go around 6:02.

  5. A good middle school mile is below 6:20. However, 6:10 and below are good for 8th graders. A good pace for it would pretty much to split up your goal time, say 1:30 per lap, on pace for a 6:00 mile. You would take the third and fourth laps a little more quickly though, and maybe the first too (many tend to do that). I'm not exactly sure on what true placing times in the 1600M are, though, because last year, I didn't place with a PR of 6:09. I haven't had any meets yet this year, so I don't know.
