I always tend to over eat, even when i anticipate overeating.

Anyone know any good free foods that i can snack on besides raw veggies?

  1. start countin calories.

  2. grab a baseball bat. put one end on the groud. put forehead on the other end. run in circles for 2 min. Then sit down and eat..... You will take 5 bites and leave the table.

  3. Drink water.  Sometimes thirst masquerades as hunger.  This may seem weird, but maybe you are not snacking enough.  If you overeat at meals, maybe you are not having enough of a snack.  My snacks tend to have a veggie or fruit and a protein with some fat.  So, maybe a carrot and whole wheat crackers (15 g of carbs worth) with some cheese.  Then the meal looks like half a package of tofu and 3 to 5 servings of veggies.  Sometimes it isn't how much you eat but what you are eating that makes you satisfied.  If your snacks have a bit of everything you won't feel deprived between meals.  Also, try having one square of REALLY dark chocolate before your meal.  You know, the kind that is almost bitter... you will eat less at the meal because it spikes your serotonin levels (antidepressant brain chemical.)  Also look at your eating environment.  My husband and I pray before a meal and that helps me slow down and not get stressed out while I eat.  So, try sitting down and taking 5 deep breaths, light a candle or pray or meditate whatever helps you de-stress.   I tend to overeat when I am stressed and when I am not aware of my environment.

I hope this helps you, although I didn't give you a very long list of free foods!

    Take care

  4. fruits, popcorn without butter or salt, but there are ways to cut down on your eating while making your body think otherwise. Eat 5-6 small meals per day. Measure out all your food. Eat mostly veggies, fruits, nuts, salads with very little and low fat drsg. Don't eat allot of bread, pasta, potatoes, etc. Drink lots of water and don't drink soda, cool aide, etc. Don't snack on chips, cookies, etc.

  5. Chew gum - it lasts for a little while and has less then five calories a piece. Also sucking candy works.

  6. yeah, as the other guy said, chew gum. another good one that i just recently started doing myself is sunflower seeds. after a while you can fit A LOT in your mouth and slowly work through them, plus they ahve so little to them you can eat as many as you want w/o feeling like a pig. good luck ^+^
