  1. Former child care administrator and child development teacher for child care workers here.  At 2, or even 3, nursery school is not essential.  The children do benefit somewhat from interaction with other children, but this should be limited to a "preschool" limited-time type of schedule with the child still spending plenty of time with a primary caregiver - if possible.  If working is a must for you, find a child care center with a good reputation, low student:teacher ration (for 2's that should be 8:1 or less), and don't be afraid to pop in at different times just to see what's going on.

  2. it is best that you take your child to nursery, they will get the expeirence of playing with other children, and use of not being around just one person. If they don't want to go you can tell them they are going to work , just like you. but once they are there for a while she or he will enjoy it. and will be looking forward on going.

  3. It is better for a child to go to nursery, since it is a group of children. It has benefits like social skills development, gives the immune system a boost and children learn to share... Take extra care when choosing a nursery. Look at things like a swimming pool, animals and space... Also try to ask as many questions about the routine as possible. Also try to get your child involved in the extra activities, even from 2years old. Hope it helps...

  4. At 2 they benefit a lot from interactions with other children.

  5. Nursery school.  Because they have a greater opportunity to build their social skills.  Also, baby sitters sometimes can be very unreliable.  Nursery school have a set day and time that they have to be there.  From experience, Nursery school would help with the stress of making sure someone is there for your child when you need it.

  6. Maybe you or your wife need to stay home and teach your baby.

Free and unstructured play is the best way for 2 year olds to learn more effectively. Otherwise, their active learning portions of their brains become retarded or severely slowed down. Children who've had too much structured learning, are completely inept in creative imagination and problem solving.
