Good used snowbords?

Question

Hi im am 11 and i am kinda still learning to snowboard i am getting a snowboard next season but apparently i have to go to a sports swap for a snowboard. what r some things that i should look for when i look at the snowboards like if there in good shape........... also one of y friends old boards bindings get stuck after u come down the mountain is there a way to see if the bindings r stuck when i look at the board

i snowboard i have a used board  but get a new board they work best

You should make sure you get the right size. It should be as tall as about the spot between your lips and nostrols. Also how flexible the board is. If you want to hit the rails and jumps you would want to go for a flexible board and possibly a twin tip. But if you just want to ride powder and trails go for a firmer board. Do not get STEP IN bindings. Those are the ones that your foot gets stuck in and they SUCK. Get strap in bindings. They are moslty what are used now a days and they dont get stuck. Your friend must have step ins.

Look to see if there are scratches or gouges in the base.  It's not too important on the top (just about looks there) if there are scratches.

Check the edges of the board to see that it's not pulling apart anywhere and that the metal railing isn't coming off.  It's best if the metal edge goes all the way around the board rather than just on the sidewalls.

If you're average weight get one about nose height so that you can ride it for longer than a shorter one since you're growing.  Test the flex by grabbing the nose and resting the tail on the floor and pushing on the top of the board.  You'll want a softer board since you're new and young.
