Question:

Good vacation spot in canada?

Preferrably in the southeastern part of Canada (we live in Kentucky) I was at first thinking of going to Gatlinburg, TN, but me and the hubby have been tossing around the idea of possibly moving to Canada in the future, when the kids get older. So I was wondering what would be a good place to go for about a week that would be fun and would help us decide if we still want to think about moving there in a few years. Also, is snow really a big deal up there? or is it something you just kinda adjust/get use to?

  1. Vancouver and Whistler

Trust me, the rocky mountains are beautiful

RM = SKI SKI AND MORE SKI

  2. I never dreamed I'd see Black Creek mentioned on here. If you like Canada but can't take the thought of snow, think about British Columbia. The coast gets very little snow though winters can be wet and cloudy, summers are nice but rarely really hot especially near the water. The interior gets cooler winters and more snow but not every place gets a lot, and summers can be very hot.

  3. I dont know if this is in the southeastern but ONTARIO, ONTARIO, ONTARIO! its where all the sites are, you can ride as many double decker buses as you want, and its the BEST hotel site. Have fun! =)

  4. I live in KY now but lived in Toronto for a year. It was a very happening city. I'm not a city girl and hate the cold so I didn't like it while I was there but in retrospect, I miss it! It was a very clean and safe city with a lot of restaurants. You could go down to the beach or up to the mountains. Lots of different things to do from seeing quaint towns, going skiing, underground shopping (amazing amount of stores underground during the winter), great transportation via the train, etc etc. Toronto is just up from Buffalo, NY so it's one of the closest places you will visit. While there, everyone said that I needed to visit Montreal for its history and quaintness but I didn't make it. I now wish I had. I plan on visiting Toronto as soon as I can. It is very cold and very snowy but they do a good job of plowing and keeping the hassle to a minimum. However, 10 degree temps and ugly melting snow for 6 months of the year is difficult to keep to a minimum for this sun loving girl.

  5. You should go to a place called St. Brieux (pronounced brew) in Saskatchewan. It is Canada's best kept secret place for a wonderful vacation and very inexpensive too. Go, you'll have a wonderful time.

  6. well, a great spot for a one week vacation is in ontario!

southwestern ontario along lake huron or up in central ontario in the muskoa region! They have many cottages and beaches and it's beatiful in the summer! my family rents a cottage along lake huron for a week every summer and its gorgeus. they have one of the best sunsets in the world!

if your looking for more upbeat cities you could try toronto ontario or ottawa ontario

Toronto has SO much to do! You can go up the CN tower, see baseball/football game at the roger centre, see concerts/basketball/hockey games at the air canada centre. Theres also the sherwood shopping centre, yorkdale mall, and the famous eaton centre. They have a lot of good stores such as abercrombie, hollister, lacoste, american eagle, etc. There is also many live theatres, movie theeaters and restaurants. In the summer you can take a ferry over to centre island where there's an amusemant park. And the CNE (canadian national exhibt) is there which is fun! lots of rides and exhibits. Also, about 20 minutes north of Toronto is a city called Vaughn where Canada's wonderland is, which is A LOT of fun.

  7. Ottawa or Toronto

  8. I recommend Niagra falls, Nunavut, Peggy's cove in Nova scotia, Halifax in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Vancouver, British Columbia, Courtney in british columbia and black crrek wich is just outside of courtney in british columbia

  9. Yes, we get winter here in Canada. Snow is a big huge deal for some people; some of us really really like it a lot. Those who detest winter are easiest to spot because they won't stop whining endlessly about the snow.

As for where to visit and what to do, it really depends on what you're looking for. If it's touristy stuff, then you will not go wrong visiting Ottawa. Besides it being our national capital, it is home to so many neat museums. It is a compact city well serviced by public transit.

Quebec is right across the river and, contrary to what a lot of people think, is not hostile to English speaking people. Again, decide what you would like to do and take it from there.
