I just got my Private Pilot Certificate a few weeks ago and I am looking for some ways to get free flight hours. What would you guys and gals recommend I do?

  1. become a flight instructor. you get paid to build hours.

  2. congrats!

I'm with the Delta Connection Academy- and through that ya can get hours, but your best bet would be to find a CFI or CFII and pay them flight time (or if you have a certified friend w/ his own plane or rent one) and fly and just log the time!

(some places, like the DCA actually count simulator time as flight time!)

    happy skies!

  3. My suggestion is to start hanging around airports in your free time, if you get to know some cfi's or aircraft owners you never know what might happen. I was able to work out a deal with my local flight school for flight time in exchange for washing airplanes. Also, if you know any ifr pilots that need to get current you could offer to fly as their safety pilot while they are under the hood.
