So right now I'm trying to train for swim team thats gonna start in September (swim practice just ended)...I currently do around 180 pushups a night (6x30) and 300 situps like every other day. +around 60 leg lifts (2x30) My friend told me its not to do that much stuff with heavy weights because more muscle supposedly equals less flexiblilty? idk i have no idea if thats right so if anyone could verify that for me that would be awesome...

thank you guys so much

  1. Your workout is very good.  Make sure you stretch every night so you will stay flexible.  You don't have to worry if you stretch out.

My dryland workout often had some running.  Working out your abs are very important for swimming.  Do planks.  Also, lie on your back and bring both legs to a 45 degree angle.  Then slowly bring them back down until they're just above the ground and do flutter kick.

It would be a good idea to swim too.

  2. A lot of muscluar people do have issues with flexibility, but it doesn't have to.  Making it a routine to stretch before and after exercising will allow a muscluar person to be just as flexible as a twiggy.
